Tesla Hits A Trillion!

Tesla Model 3

Tesla is well and truly the world’s most valuable car company after being valued at over $US1 trillion ($AU1.4 trillion). This puts it in the same league as familiar tech brands Facebook, Amazon, Apple, and Alphabet (Google).

The valuation comes after car rental giant Hertz ordered 100,000 Tesla Model 3 sedans. This means that the model 3 now comprises 20% of the car rental companies global fleet.

The order is expected to begin being fulfilled later this year throughout Europe and USA.

Following this announcement, Tesla stocks soared by 5%. Increasing Elon Musk’s, Tesla CEO, personal net worth by $US25.6 billion ($AU34.1 billion). Musk is now worth $US255.2 billion ($AU340 billion) according to Forbes.

This news also comes after the Tesla Model 3 overtook the Volkswagen Golf as Europe’s best-selling car. Recording a year-on-year growth of 58% in sales.
